White Hall Animal Clinic is a thriving, privately-owned, small animal general practice dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care and building strong, lasting relationships with our clientele. We are currently seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated General Practice Veterinarian to join our dynamic team. This role involves a comprehensive approach to animal health, including clinical and wellness exams, surgical procedures, and the effective management of veterinary care plans. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in maintaining our practice’s commitment to excellence, client satisfaction, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical and Wellness Exams: Conduct thorough physical examinations to assess a wide range of conditions. Implement preventive care strategies to maintain optimal animal health.
- Surgical Procedures: Perform routine and non-routine surgeries, ensuring the highest standard of care. Pre-surgical evaluation and post-surgical monitoring are integral components of this responsibility.
- Diagnostics: Interpret diagnostic tests, including blood work, radiographs, and ultrasound, to accurately diagnose and treat conditions.
- Client Communication: Provide clear, compassionate, and detailed explanations to clients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive health care recommendations. Ensure clients are fully informed and comfortable with their pets’ care plans.
- Chart Completion: Diligently complete patient charts within 24 hours of examination, ensuring thorough documentation of visitations, treatments, and recommendations.
- Staff Supervision and Mentoring: Play a key role in supervising and mentoring veterinary support staff, including veterinary technicians and assistants. Foster a positive, educational, and professional work environment.
- Clientele Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, loyal relationships with clients. Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to client service at all times.
- Continuing Education: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance professional growth and practice standards.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the state of West Virginia or the ability to obtain licensure upon hire.
- Demonstrated experience in small animal general practice is preferred.
- Strong surgical skills and diagnostic acumen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on compassion and client service.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of veterinary professionals.
- Commitment to continued education and professional development.
- Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This position involves frequent standing, walking, and handling of animals of varying sizes and temperaments.
- The ability to perform and assist with surgical procedures, lift animals and equipment, and work under the pressure of emergency situations is required.
